Richard Hill - Mayor

I'm your Mayor, Rich Hill, and I've been a resident of Round Lake Beach since 1977, Mayor since April of 2001 and a Village Trustee from 1995 to 2001. I am married to my wife, Kathy, and we have 8 children, Christy, Rich, Amanda, Koreena, Jennifer, Steven, Preston and Madison.

I've worked with the public since I was 15 and enjoy helping solve people's problems. Giving back to my community has always been important to me whether it's through the Boy Scouts, Round Lake Area Lake Management Organization, President and Director of the Chamber of Commerce, Commissioner of the Round Lake Area Park District, Round Lake Beach Trustee or my current position as Mayor. I also serve as Chairman of the Board for the Joint Action Water Agency (they provide our Lake Michigan drinking water) and as Chairman of Cencom (police & fire dispatch center for the Round Lake Area and Barrington).

I have seen a lot accomplished since I was first elected to the Board in 1995. A budget with over $1,000,000 in errors has been brought into balance with a healthy fund balance. Many new businesses have opened in Round Lake Beach bringing needed revenue for additional police and public works staff as well as funds for replacing roads, water mains and adding curb and gutter. We have 2 new 1.5 million gallon water towers and a large water main loop to keep water flowing throughout the village.

We have a new police station, village hall and Cultural & Civic Center for our residents. The lakefront park has been redesigned and expanded to include another 10 acres across the channel for passive recreation.

We developed our comprehensive plan for the future of our village in February of 2009 it was reviewed and new goals set for the future. If you like what we've done just wait till you see what we do!

Please feel free to contact me for questions, suggestions or just to say hi. I'm always glad to hear from another resident of Round Lake Beach. My home phone is 847-546-7707. If I'm not available please leave a message on my answering machine and I'll call you back.

Margie Cleveland - Village Clerk

I am Margie Cleveland.  My husband, David, and I have been married for 31 years.  We have five children; Jeremy, Matthew, Kerry, Timothy and Daniel.  We moved to Round Lake Beach in 1980.

I was appointed to the Planning and Zoning Board by Mayor Hill and served as a commissioner for five years.  I also worked on the Lakefront Community Beautification Development project.  I currently work as a Health Assistant at Beach Elementary School.  I have also served as a volunteer at Beach School for 20 years, on the PTA Board and in many other capacities.

I am looking forward to my new responsibilites as Village Clerk and working with our community in the years to come.

Jerry Mattingly - Sr. Trustee

Jerry Mattingly, married to Sue for 19 years, 4 children - Thomas, Jay, Amy and Nicole, current Village Trustee elected in 1993, reelected in 1997, Avon Township Republican Committee Precinct 19. Community Involvement: Current Village Trustee, appointed in 1996 and reelected in 1997, 2001, 2005 and 2009. Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County, Gurnee, IL; Precinct Committeeman for Lake Villa Township #145; Lake County Deputy Registrar; Former AWANA Clubs Commander and Sunday School Teacher; BSA Leader (Eagle Scout), Troop 275, Round Lake, IL; and member of Sequoit Lodge #827 AF&AM, Antioch, IL. Former Director for Callaghan & Co. Employees Federal Credit Union.

As an Assistant Manager for Walmart Supercenter in Zion, I have had to accommodate many changes in my career. I know that change is inevitable and the best way to handle change is to be on the forefront. I believe that the responsibility for finances, planning and policy making should reflect the needs and interest of the village and will do his best to see that these objectives are met. "Round Lake Beach is a growing community that will continue to be a better place to work and live in Lake County. As we improve our community with steady commercial growth, new businesses, and new infrastructure, we bring the quality of life to a higher standard for all our residents."
