Celebrate Arbor Day
National Arbor Day is April 30, 2021. While in years past this was a time for volunteer opportunities and community events for all ages, current CDC recommendations for COVID-19 make this year very different. But that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate!
The spirit of Arbor Day is still strong, and below you will find resources and ideas that will help you rally your community around trees this spring
“Who is responsible for maintenance of the cul-de-sac islands?”
Although the cul-de-sac islands are owned by the Village, the regular mowing of the center islands is the responsibility of all residents whose homes face or driveways open onto the island. Sometimes it seems like this burden falls onto one or two neighbors who do “all the heavy lifting.” Unless this is something these individuals have formally agreed to do, it is not unusual for them to start becoming resentful and frustrated that others are not sharing in the chore. So, if your cul de sac hasn’t formalized a maintenance plan, now is the time to do so!
