Ordinances of Special Interest to Residents.....
No parking is allowed on Village streets between the hours of 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM or when snowfall is 2" or more.
No Burning Is Allowed (with the exception of burning fuels for legitimate campfires; recreational and cooking purposes, such as barbecues and grills; or in domestic fireplaces, in areas where such burning is consistent with other laws)
Water and Sewer Services
A water deposit of $100.00 is required of every resident.
The deposit is not refundable until the property has
changed ownership or tenancy and the final bill is paid
in full.
Customers are billed for water and sewer every other
month. To keep operating costs to a minimum, customers
are encouraged to pay their bills by mail using the
return envelope provided. Payments are also accepted
at the Village Hall or by using the night deposit box or
by direct debit. Bills are due bi-monthly on or before the 7th.
Bills not paid on time will result in a 10%
fee penalty. Accounts that are over 45 days late are
subject to termination, and a $50-75.00 reconnection fee
is assessed.
To have water turned on or off, or for information
concerning rates or billing, call 847-546-2351. Do not
hesitate to call if you do not receive a water bill.
Bi-Monthly Water Billing Information
Lake Michigan Water - $ 4.97 per 1000 gallons
Lake County Sewage Treatment - $3.31 per 1000 gallons (based on consumption)
Customer Processing Fee - $10.00 per billing

Water Restrictions
Water restrictions go into effect to conserve water as part of
State requirements for communities using Lake Michigan
water effective annually on May 15th. Lawn sprinklers may
be used between the hours of 6:00-9:00 AM and 6:00-9:00 PM
daily. Restrictions do not apply to washing cars or handheld
watering of gardens. Residents with newly sodded lawns can
apply to the Community Development Department for a no-cost
permit that allows additional watering hours. Water
restrictions continue through September 15th. Persons violat-ing
this ordinance are subject to fine.
