New Resident Information Guide

Greater Round Lake Area Fire Protection District.
The Greater Round Lake Area Fire Protection District provides protective and preventive services to the village. The Fire District operates two fire stations, with another currently under construction just east of Route 83 on Hook Drive. One is located in Round Lake Beach and one is located in Round Lake. Recreation
The village maintains a number of neighborhood parks, including a beachfront park, with boat launch, on Round Lake called Lake Shore Park. For visitor information contact the Village Hall at 847-546-2351. A wide variety of recreational and sports programs are offered by the Round Lake Area Park District. The Park District owns and operates a number of parks, as well as Renwood Golf Course within the village. The Park District is located at 814 Hart Road, Round Lake, IL. Library
The village is served by two library districts, the Round Lake Area Library and the Lake Villa Library. Round Lake Area Library is located at 906 Hart Road in Round Lake and their phone number is 847-546- 7060. Lake Villa Library is located at 1001 E. Grand Avenue in Lake Villa and their phone number is 847-356-7711.

Lake County Rehabilitation Assistance Program
This program is available to existing or new property owners in designated areas of the village. The program is aimed at eliminating potential health and safety hazards and improving the general condition of buildings in designed areas through the use of direct funds, counseling, and technical assistance. For information contact Housing Rehabilitation and Neighborhood Services at 847-546-2351, or contact the Lake County Housing Authority at 847-223-1170.

Economic Development Department (Building Department)
Community Development is primarily responsible for the enforcement of building, zoning, and housing codes, including plumbing and electrical codes. Building permits are required before any building or remodeling is started, including installation of fences, swimming pools, garages, and other structures. Literature on code requirements and fees is available from the Economic Development Department. For information call 847-546-2351.

Occupancy Permits
Occupancy permits are required on all homes when ownership or tenancy changes. The fee is $60.00 for a permanent occupancy permit (one inspection). For information contact Economic Development at 847-546-2351.
