Village Tree Trimming to take place in October

Advanced Tree Care Inc., a private firm contracted by the Village, in October will begin trimming parkway trees bordering private property.

Trimming is performed for the following reasons:

  1. To remove hazardous deadwood.
  2. To eliminate interference between low limbs and vehicles, such as snow plows and school buses.
  3. To clear stop signs, street lights and buildings.
  4. To improve overall tree health by reducing the opportunity for insect and disease infestation.
  5. To maintain the natural shape of the tree.
  6. To reduce the effects of wind and ice on branch stability.
  7. To repair storm damaged limbs.

The pruning of parkway trees is necessary for the continued growth and health of the Village’s leafy canopy.

If you have any questions or for more information, call the Village’s Public Works Department at (847) 546-8752.
